We are Home Made: Rachel

Team Dec 10, 2020

Here is the next article in our blog series introducing landlords and renters to our fantastic Home Made team! Together, we come from 21 different countries (and counting) and a range of industry backgrounds. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. This series showcases the unique individuals at the heart of our mission to make the process of renting and letting property better for everyone. Read on to find out more about the people taking care of your property needs.

Introducing Rachel - head of tenancy operations and karaoke queen. Rachel joined the team earlier this year on the 23rd March, the same day that national lockdown measures were announced by the government. Rach has displayed some seriously impressive mettle in building our ops team and reimagining our processes, even as covid guidelines make it that much harder to arrange a tenancy. If this is what she can achieve in trying times, we can't wait to see what's next as we move closer towards something like normal.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I studied ethics, values and philosophy at the University of Reading before starting my career in the property industry. My previous role before joining Home Made was at an independent estate agency in Kensington, where I headed up their holiday lets branch.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, films, restaurants, cooking (anything but gammon - too salty), spending time with friends and family and WINE! I’m also an avid online shopper and spend a lot of time buying home stuff for my new place.

Why Home Made?

I wanted the opportunity to work with property experts while doing something different from what was on offer in the traditional industry, and to work alongside highly motivated individuals who encourage each other to always learn and improve.

What makes us unique?

The company culture and the drive for continuous improvement. It’s a phenomenal environment for professional development. It’s also refreshing to work in a team with such an authentic commitment to improving the customer experience!

Favourite area of London and why?

Victoria Park (near Mile End) - It’s now on our doorstep and it’s driving the desire for a dog of our own!

Fun fact:

I once got into a lift with former Arsenal and England national goalkeeper David Seamen.

Editor’s note: I am not sure why so many Home Made team members support, or are otherwise connected to, Arsenal. Spurs fans are encouraged to apply for our open positions to restore some balance.
